Airline Industry Analysis: Delta vs. JetBlue
While Delta and JetBlue are both industry-leading, multinational airline corporations, they differ most significantly with respect to their system route architectures. Delta relies on a hub-and-spoke model while JetBlue employs a point-to-point model. In short, the majority of Delta’s flights connect through central hubs, such as Atlanta in the United States, while JetBlue focuses on offering direct flights to and from a wider variety of destinations. The differing system route architectures have significant implications on the operations of each firm and allow each firm to best meet the demands of their respective target customers.
