Alam: Next Generation Tourism

Alam is a business and design proposal for a sustainable co-living resort on the island of Gili Meno in Indonesia. With millennials as the target client, the proposal centers around experiences.

Through its carefully crafted programming and corresponding amenities, Alam emphasizes interpersonal exchanges and keeps private space to the essentials, expanding opportunities for socialization and time in the outdoors.  Its units are composed from a regular grid built from bamboo and recycled timber, while its vast amenity spaces follow organic curves from unbaked clay bricks that interweave the grounds.

From its local construction materials and passive and modular design, to its programmed booking packages, Alam proposes a holistically sustainable approach to tourism.
